The National Executive Committee of the Young People’s Guild in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana led a section of the Guilders to make a donation to the Osu Children’s Home at Osu. This was done on Saturday, the 16th of March 2019. The donation which formed part of the Youth and Students week celebration of the Presbyterian Youth across the Nation was accompanied by delegates from Ga West and Ga Presbyteries. The donation worth about GH₵6000.00 comprised of items such as 5 bags of rice, 2 bags of maize, 5 cartons of Tasty Tom tomato paste, 2 cartons of Perk Biscuits, 1 carton of Nestle Milo, 2 Gallons of Frytol oil, 1 box of Madar liquid soap, 8 cartons of Carnation Milk, 6 crates of Eggs, 2 packs of frozen Hen Wings together with some toiletries and assorted fruits. Rev. K. L. M. Ansa, the Ga West Presbytery Youth Coordinator after saying a word of prayer, encouraged the children that, Jesus loves all of them. In all situations and in all circumstances, they should realize that, Jesus loves them and they should not give up. The National President for the Guild, Mr. Alfred Appiah on behalf of the National Council and all Guilders, presented the items and was received by Madam Rachel Kissi, a worker at the home. In a brief message, the President said this gesture by the Young People’s Guild is an extension of love towards these children to leave an indelible mark on their lives. He added that we look forward to doing more in future. In a short interview carried out by media men from UTV, Rev. K. L. M Ansa was asked about how the issue of streetism could be tackled in the country. He responded that Church institutions can get involved through the Social Welfare to take these children out of the street. He added that Cooperate Institutions, Individuals, the government together with Parents can all help to contribute to taking these children from the streets. He also addressed the issue of Teenage Pregnancy stressing that quality education should be carried out to curb this menace. He indicated that both Guardians and the teenagers must be taught the consequences of teenage pregnancy to make the teenagers abstain sexually related activities.

The National Executive Committee of the Guild had their First Retreat Meeting of the year at the Akuapem Hospitality Center from the 1st - 3rd February. In addition to that, 3 committees were inaugurated by the National CLAN Director, Rev. Theophilus Bio Kyeame. Thanks.
